right after flying out of d.c. on inauguration day, gwb stopped off in midland for a "homecoming" speech and the entire city packed into the downtown area to hear what he had to say. the man may be downright loathed across the globe but here, in his last pocket of popular support, he went over famously...an altogether surreal experience given the momentous occasion of the day.
